ZDATA Celebrates Grand Groundbreaking of Malaysia GP3 Hyperscale Data Center Campus, Pioneering Global Expansion
ZDATA today held a grand groundbreaking ceremony at the GP3 hyperscale data center campus in Johor, Malaysia. The event was filled with an exceptionally vibrant atmosphere, attended by ZDATA co-founder and CEO Dong Yan, Senior Vice President Zhao Xiaozhou, Vice President Zhao Wenxuan, Sequoia China partner Xu Qing, Johor Bahru Mayor Yang Berhormat Dato' Haji Mohd Haffiz bin Haji Ahmad, Johor Investment Centre CEO Tuan Haji Natazha Bin Hariss, Iskandar Special Economic Zone Senior Vice President Tuan Adny Jaffedon Admad, IM Investment Hub Senior Vice President Tuan Arif Kasmuri, and Qin Peihong, Deputy General Manager of China Construction Installation Group Corporation (Concurrently Executive Director of China Construction Installation International Company), alongside other local officials and partners, all gathering to witness this historic moment.

During his speech, CEO Dong Yan emphasized: "Johor, Malaysia, boasts a unique geographical position as a critical hub connecting Asia-Pacific markets, with world-class infrastructure networks and innovation-friendly policies that foster a thriving ecosystem for sustainable digital growth. It is for these reasons that ZDATA has chosen Johor as the starting point of our global journey. We will continue to expand opportunities in Malaysia and extend our footprint across Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and beyond, striving to comprehensively meet the diverse needs of clients." He further stressed ZDATA’s commitment to "building future-ready digital infrastructure to the highest standards, vigorously driving global digital economic development."

Tuan Haji Natazha Bin Hariss, CEO of Johor Investment Centre, also addressed the ceremony, warmly welcoming ZDATA’s investment in the GP3 hyperscale data center. He noted: "As one of Malaysia’s most dynamic states, Johor’s strategic location, robust infrastructure, and outstanding business environment make it an ideal choice for investors."

Qin Peihong, Deputy General Manager of China Construction Installation Group Corporation, pledged: "Adhering to our philosophy of 'Quality Assurance, Value Creation,' we will deploy a strong project management team to ensure the safe, timely, and high-quality completion of this project, aiming to establish ZDATA’s facility as an exemplary benchmark." His commitment laid a solid foundation for the project’s success.

At the climax of the ceremony, dignitaries wielded golden shovels to inaugurate the project. As the soil was turned, applause and cheers erupted, marking the official commencement of ZDATA’s Malaysia GP3 project.

The GP3 hyperscale data center in Johor will extensively adopt innovative technologies and sustainable practices, including green energy solutions. Upon completion, Johor will gain a digital landmark integrating cutting-edge innovation, environmental stewardship, and exceptional economic value. This facility will not only become one of Malaysia’s most advanced digital infrastructures but also serve as a pivotal hub for Southeast Asia, bolstering regional collaboration and ecosystem development.

On December 8, Lu Dongliang, member of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Datong Municipal Party Committee, along with other leaders including Ren Xijie, member of the Municipal Party Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor, and Zhao Xuebin, Deputy Mayor and Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Datong Economic Development Zone, led a delegation to visit the headquarters of ZDATA for inspection and research.
