Standard Participated in by ZDATA Officially Released at UN Forum, Empowering Global Green Transition of Data Centers Through Standardized Practices!
On July 7, the 2026 United Nations High‑Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) kicked off at UN Headquarters. Hosted by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the forum is themed “Taking transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated action for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals to build a sustainable future for all”. It conducts in‑depth reviews of five Sustainable Development Goals, namely SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Thirty‑six countries worldwide presented their Voluntary National Reviews during the forum.
As an official key side‑event of the 2026 United Nations High‑Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), the 2026 Forum on Standardization for Sustainable Development was grandly held at UN Headquarters in New York on July 10. Responding closely to the imperative of the final push for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the high‑level forum serves as a vital premium platform for Chinese civil‑society organizations to engage in global sustainable‑development initiatives, share standard‑building experience and foster practical China‑foreign cooperation. As a globally leading enterprise in digital infrastructure, ZDATA took an active part in developing the forum’s core output, Guidelines for Green Energy‑Efficiency Assessment and Optimization of Data Centers, bringing industrial practices to elevate Chinese green standards onto the international stage.
During the forum’s outcomes release session, Guidelines for Green Energy‑Efficiency Assessment and Optimization of Data Centers was officially launched globally as one of the three key association standards. Administratively under the joint jurisdiction of the China Council for International Economic and Technical Cooperation and the Beijing Industrial Cooperation Association, the standard was developed by a special drafting working group consisting of domestic research institutions, industry experts and key enterprises. Polished through multiple rounds of industrial research, solution demonstration and public consultation, it balances the realities of domestic industrial growth and universal global sustainable‑development requirements, establishing a unified and authoritative benchmark for the data‑center industry covering quantitative energy‑efficiency assessment and practical system optimization. Drawing on profound expertise in green data‑center construction & operation and low‑carbon intelligent‑computing technology implementation, ZDATA served as a core participating drafter. It incorporated front‑line practical experience from liquid‑cooling heat dissipation, cascaded energy utilization and low‑PUE operation scenarios into the standard framework, delivering solid support for the standard’s industrial adaptability and practical operability.
The release of this association standard at the UN platform marks a milestone breakthrough in the international outreach of Chinese association standards. It sets a precedent for Chinese green‑sustainability standards to engage deeply in global governance and offers implementable and replicable Chinese solutions for the green transition of global digital infrastructure. For ZDATA, in‑depth participation in this national‑level standard is solid industry recognition of its long‑standing achievements in green computing power. To date, ZDATA has built multiple green big‑data and intelligent‑computing industrial bases across the globe. It keeps improving the energy efficiency of computing‑power infrastructure via technological innovation, puts sustainable‑development concepts into concrete actions, and provides proven practical models for the industry’s green transition.
Going forward, ZDATA will continue to advance technological innovation and operational practices for green digital infrastructure, and engage extensively in the development of domestic and international industrial‑standard systems to translate more industrial achievements into shared industry‑wide standardized consensus. Meanwhile, by partnering with more upstream and downstream stakeholders across the industrial chain, ZDATA will facilitate mutual learning and alignment between Chinese sustainable‑development standards and international regimes, injecting momentum for global delivery of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and building a perpetually‑evolving digital‑economy ecosystem.
